Remake Project
I chose to remake Andy Warhol Marlin Monroe with a picture of myself using Photoshop.
At first, I was trying different filters in Photoshop for example invert, photo filter and so forth but ended up just using the paint brush tool and painted the colors in. The process was not what I expected but anyhow it's done and I think I could of worked on the right cheek a little more but I like my right eye.

Jennifer Tato's REMAKE PROJECT HUMANLAND
HUMANLAND Final Cut: Rule # 1 Zombie Cardio :)
ZOMBIELAND Original Clip: Rule #1 Cardio
Here is the finalized version of my remake project which I wrote and directed from the original. In the original clip of Zombieland, a lone kid is trying to survive a world infested with zombies. He lays down one fundamental rule among other rules in order to survive. In my remake project I chose to make a reversed scenario from the zombie's perspective. The last zombie in the world trying to survive the Human Apocalypse. I chose to keep the one fundamental rule from the original clip "Cardio" because I thought it was both funny and a key element from the original clip. A guide, or perhaps set of rules to surviving an Apocalypse. Enjoy & please like my video :) thank you!

Creativity and Chakra's
Our Chakras are centers of energy located in the midline of our body. There are seven Chakras located in our body. The most well known and widely accepted Chakra system is the Hindu system. The word Chakra, is Sanskrit meaning ‘wheel’. The Chakras start at the base of the spine and go up through your head. The Kundalini is a dormant potential force in humans. Inside every human being there is a network of nerves and sensory organs that interpret the outside world. The seven major Chakras correspond to specific aspects of our consciousness and have their own individual characteristics and functions. Each Chakra has relation to the various glands in our body’s endocrine system, as well as to one of the seven colors of the rainbow. We record every thought and feeling in our chakras and they remain there until they are released. As we evolve and live our lives it is important for us to grow and move forward shedding and evolving these old ideas. Each of these Chakras play a very important role in the creative processes of our life.
Disruptions in the flow of energy within and between these Chakras can block our creative processes. You are unable to move your physical, emotional and mental body to a higher level of spiritual awareness. We are often stuck in reality and our physical bodies and are not listening to our inner self, our inner spirit and higher self. The Chakras manifest the energy imbalance into your physical life. These disturbances are a big issue in why many of us lead less creative lives than we would if we realized our full creative potential.
Creativity is our birthright and is a necessary part of living whole and our movement toward healing. Creativity is essential to our lives. Creativity sparks our spiritual movement toward wholeness and understanding. It is our creativity that allows us to choose the life we want to live. We have the ability to imagine and dream and communicate our thoughts and inner feelings. Creativity allows the flow between energy and matter to open, connecting with our beautiful mother earth, providing natural power and drive to be creative in ways we have never imagined. The Chakras are all involved in our creative expressions. Each Chakra has a unique and powerful role to play in creativity.
Root or Base Chakra “Muladhara”
The Muladhara is the bottom of the Chakras, and is associated with the element earth. This Chakra is located at the base of the spine in the sacral plexus. This Chakra is the start place of the Kundalini. Physical activity strengthens this Chakra. This Chakra deals with physical identity, survival, stability, instinctual nature, and ambition. This Chakra connects our bodies to the physical plane. The Element earth represents this Chakra, with a red color. When the root Chakra is unbalanced all the Chakras are unable to balance themselves without a solid foundation.
Spleen Chakra “Svadhisthana”
The Svadhisthana is where new ideas, life and creativity are born, with the element water. It connects our relationship with others and the world around us. Our creativity and free will all reside within this Chakra. Free will and choice are all born from here. This Chakra is located at the hips, pelvic region. The heart of our relationships. If your having trouble being creative most likely this Chakra is blocked and needs to be opened. This Chakra builds on the characteristics of first.
The Manipura Chakra is found between the navel and the chest and is related to the color yellow. The third Chakra governs self direction, self control, personal will and energy. The third Chakra energy is reflected in the desire to create and to imagine, and manifest desires to the physical world. The energies that come together in this Chakra help us to mature in our self understanding. This Chakra compels us to create an identity apart from our tribal self.
The Anahata Chakra, located near the center of the breastbone represents higher consciousness and love. The Chakra is associated with the heart, thymus gland, lungs and circulatory system. This Chakra is a key balancing point for all Chakras. The color Green is associated with this chakra representing harmony, creativity, health, nature. The fourth Chakra mediates between the body and the spirit. This Chakra resonates our emotional perceptions, which determine the quality of our lives. We are attracted by love as we intimated by it. This Chakra embodies the spiritual lessons and shows us the most powerful energy we have is love.
The Visuddha Chakra, is your communication center located in the center of your throat. This Chakra is associated with thyroid gland, upper lungs and respiratory system. The throat Chakra oversees your ability to make responsible decisions and speak for yourself, it is your spiritual voice. The throat Chakra is associated with the color blue. Blue is symbol of inspiration, devotion, and infinity. This Chakra is our will center. This Chakra is all about self expression and communication. It is directly connected with our ability to express inner creativity.
The Anja Chakra, is the Chakra of forgiveness and compassion. It is the narrow gate which opens the way for our consciousness to ascend to its final destination. The color is indigo is associated with this Chakra. The third eye is associated with the Pineal gland in the body. The pineal gland has much to offer when it comes to creativity, insight, intuition and thought. Located deep inside our brain between the two hemispheres. This gland acts as the main control center sending signals to all the other glands. Opening of the third eye results in personal access to higher knowledge and enlightened consciousness.
The Sahasrara Chakra integrates all the Chakras with their respective qualities. It is the last milestone on the evolution of human awareness. The Chakra encompasses the crown of the head. The Kundalini passes through the top of your head. The Crown Chakra is associated with pineal gland, brain, and central nervous system. Links individual and universal energy and allows you to see the world as a whole. Balanced crown Chakras allow for expanded awareness. The color associated with this chakra is violet. Its role is to secrete hormones and energy to the rest of the endocrine system connected to the central nervous system. The Crown Chakra is our sense of beauty, creativity, and inspiration. Directly relates to self knowledge and spiritual awareness and is the union with our higher self. It is a place of all knowing, beyond limits of space and time.
Each Chakra is directly linked to your present. Having the Chakras properly opened and balanced results in good emotions, mental and spiritual health. Having a balance energy level throughout your Chakras allows balanced Kundalini, making your mind and body act in total unison. When you understand that we are more than our physical bodies, then you also understand that it is just as important to pay attention to and the care of our non physical, or energy body. Your thoughts and emotions will be as clear and easy to understand. Developing your psychic and spiritual abilities has been going on for thousands of years. Through their meaning colors, symbols we can embrace the whole history of humanity starting from its root toward its supreme realization. Each progress we make is our personal path toward enlightenment. The balance between mental and physical is such fine thread. It is up to us as human beings to absorb and project reality. With a expanded awareness and consciousness we can experience life on an enlightened path. We live in such a amazingly interesting, changing and challenging time. We live in a time with infinite potential and possibility and truly have the opportunity to be and do it all. This is the time for us to dream big, spread our wings and choose to experience a wonderful life because everything we could possibly wish for is within our reach.
3. Stop procrastinating and start painting, writing, journaling, photographing, dancing, or whatever it is that gives you joy. Listening to music will inspire you and link up your creativity. When you are joyful, and creative, you will be vibrating at a higher frequency, and will attract more good things into your life.
5 Tips to Ignite your Chakras and Creativity
1. Find a meditation/ yoga technique that works for you. There are many techniques from various disciplines and cultures worldwide. Focus on the color and symbols of the Chakra that you want to ignite. It is totally up to you to incorporate and make you own technique that you are comfortable with. Practice as much as possible.
2. Do not compare yourself with others. We are all unique individuals and are miracles of existence. Find your unique path and follow it without letting anybody effect you level. Exercise your uniqueness and do what you need to fulfill yourself.
3. Stop procrastinating and start painting, writing, journaling, photographing, dancing, or whatever it is that gives you joy. Listening to music will inspire you and link up your creativity. When you are joyful, and creative, you will be vibrating at a higher frequency, and will attract more good things into your life.
4. Visit temples, museums, artwork and embrace yourself with the beauty of creation. Get inspired and create with influences fresh in your mind.
5. Keep your Chakras energized. Once you have discovered your unique voice and vision, express you unbounded creativity, share with others and help create our beautiful world.

I remade "The scream," by Edvard Munch that is one of my favorite paintings. I drew it myself, and I put Macaulay Culkin's face from the movie "Home alone" instead of the original face. He's screaming because he's worrying the future of our planet in the painting. (Nuclear bomb, Aliens, and Global warming)

Creative
Problem-Solving and Visualization-Meditation Techniques
Visualization and meditation to solve
problems is not a new-age or ‘airy fairy’ concept. It is quite practical and
used more often than we realize. Being able to envision solutions to problems
which arise is a key bridge in being able to create in many different settings.
It’s the evolutionary thing that sets us as humans apart, and has given rise to
nearly every invention and innovation. Whether reached actively or passively-
visions and visualizations, coupled with meditation, are a way to shift the inner mental projection and
picture oneself on the other side of a problem. It’s a way to free the
imagination rather than focusing on the negative aspects. Similar to
when people use the expression, “sleep it over”, these methods give your mind
and mental processes a chance to rest, yet run and do what they have been
preprogrammed to do. When your mind is in the state of actively focused
visualization or meditation, it is similar to when you are completely absorbed
in a creative or personally enjoyed activity. During those types of activities
your mind is both focused and relaxed, and often you get ‘lost’ in the activity,
getting past the blocks on a creative path.
Creative ideas flourish in this window
of opportunity and often solutions to problems present themselves without
strain. Even if the solution doesn’t
pop into your consciousness right then, it at least sets up and prepares your
mind to receive a solution; and clears up emotional clutter which can make
problems seem unsolvable and frustrate the creative process. During this
time, attention is not placed on the emotions surrounding that problem, yet the
kernel of the problem itself considered with an objective and undistracted
mind.
One method of solving a creative
problem solving using a visualization-meditation technique is to think about a specific problem;
something you are stuck on creatively, academically, or personally, and to take
5-10 minutes to write down all the hopes and fears you have associated with
this particular problem. There are a few reasons to do this- it galvanizes the
pros and cons and feelings you have which may be holding you back from seeing
an essential factor or a hidden ‘ah-ha’. It also makes it more defined and set
in a framework of parameters to which you can look at from the outside
perspective.
Then, try
to do just the opposite which is to clear your mind completely of this
problem/situation/conundrum for about the same amount of time, 5-10 minutes,
while closing your eyes and sitting somewhere still and calm, deeply breathing.
In order to replace the problem from your mind, think of the expanse
surrounding where you have placed the problem. In doing this, you want to also
focus on the endless possibilities and resolve your expectations to be able to
work through the problem to the other side. It is important to get to the state
when you are totally transfixed and transported to another place where your
perspective can change and grow larger. Even if the solution doesn’t pop into
your consciousness right then, it at least sets up and prepares your mind to
receive a solution and clears the emotional clutter and confusion that will
make problems seem unsolvable and frustrate the creative process. Scenarios and
solutions must be pictured by the mind’s eye before it can enter into the
cognitive process, therefore making the act of imagining the problem and
picturing it like a movie in your mind so important. When you visualize
something, you build a platform for understanding and knowledge that can later
lead to greater breakthroughs.
As I
mentioned in the introduction, it is thought that the characteristic which sets
men apart from animals is the ability to go over situations and construct
possibilities in their minds. From his book Scenario Visualization: An Evolutionary Account of
Creative Problem Solving Robert Arp states, “In order to solve problems, humans are able to synthesize
apparently unrelated concepts, hypothesize, invent, and engage in other
similarly abstract and creative activities, primarily through the use of their
visual systems.” Furthermore, he defines scenario visualization (a topic
which he delves into) as a “conscious
ability to segregate and integrate visual images in future scenarios.” According to this author the very ability to be able to
creatively visualize is the answer to the two questions asked most by
philosophers and biologists regarding human nature; why we are unique; and how
we got that way. The answer of course is being able to creatively visualize and
meditate on our problems in order to find a solution. It would seem that
animals act out of habit and instinct but that is beyond the scope of this
research paper.
In
conclusion, people have taken this class perhaps in order to increase their
creativity and their ability to solve not only creative problems but personal,
community, and world problems. The research shows that it is an innate and part
of the human brain which has uniquely developed to be able to picture, analyze,
and create situations out of visualization and meditation within themselves. It
could potentially benefit creative individuals to know about these
visualization techniques which allow the mind to get outside of a problem and
look at it objectively in order to create a solution. So, next time you are confronted with
a problem, grab a note pad, get centered and allow the creative forces to work on your behalf!

Note: due to website/blog complications I made an audio track for this project and can not directly upload it. So I went to YouTube and created an account which said I needed to convert it into a movie file. So I downloaded that program, designed it as an audio track with picture and have attempted 4 times each time it gets halfway saved and my computer crashes and turns off. So very frustrating coupled with the fact that I had to be re added to post on the blog-- . So, hopefully I can get that worked out or Carl can put it on Laulima.

I recently bought a brand new jigsaw. A jigsaw is a tool used for cutting designs in wood, metal or other materials. My father taught me how to use a jigsaw when I was about 8 years old. Since I bought this new jigsaw, I can't help but see a picture or figure and envision myself cutting it out. I am constantly sketching and taking pictures of potential cutouts. All the plywood that I use is found on the streets. One man's trash is my creative treasure.

Exercise- Roland Research Project
Potentially Human
Personally, as a creature I like to jump. The agility of a young buck compels
the soul to hurl the body into the mountainous regions of nature, so as to
rustle with the trees, sprawl with the grass, and sing with the birds. Gliding
the body up and down countless rocks and roots, my feet the navigator. In
the ocean I’m found sliding though the water. Currents swaying my every
molecule, but with what technique and determination I move my body in the
direction I so please. Once the blood is thoroughly flowing through the
veins, I’m agile as a gazelle.
There are two aunts of mine, my father’s only sisters. They are both terribly
obese. Both would be categorized with the 6% of Americans who are
“extremely obese”, opposed to the 34% of Americans who are simply obese.
In 2009, 63.1% of adults in America
were either overweight or obese. Bound for the same path, around twelve
years ago my father stopped eating meat, and took up exercise. He is now
able to hike miles of mountains and walk streets for numerous hours without
halt. In conversation, the sisters insist to the brother that it is too
late for them to be fit; their naïve ignorance extinguishes hopes of any form
of exercise.
Exercise is a necessary part of our lives that was lost somewhere in our
understandings as a society, over shadowed by corporate profit and
technological conveniences.
Primitive man needed to be
physically fit, as he would be able to spend two days on trips up to 20 miles
on foot in order to hunt and gather for their people. When I discuss the
matters of gathering women with my comrades, we often refer to the experience
as hunting. We metaphorically ‘hunt’ the women, and it is indirectly to
our benefit if we maintain a healthy, physically fit profile. In that
sense, hunting has played an uncannily similar role on the human male physiology
from the dawn of man to the present day.
To say that exercise seems
unnecessary in today’s society could be an understatement. Today, one
could choose to spend the entirety of their free time in a vegetative state,
absorbed in the monitor of their television or computer. Kindergarteners
around the world are already being taught and entertained on devices that
require the maximum movement of a hand wave. From couch or office
chair one can bee-line directly to their vehicle to migrate to the next sitting
spot. People have adapted to seeing exercise as a burden, even a tiring
waste of time. Despite how it may seem, exercise is, as it has always been,
chief in importance to our health and well-being. There is an ancient Greek
saying, “Exercise for the body and music for the soul”.
Perhaps it is one who is blessed,
or likely just more aware, to see that the body daily contains far more energy
than one would know what to do with. Moreover, this supply is replenished after
each night, and one could feel as if it’s been wasted if not wholly used for a
day. When I find circumstance to expel a majority of my energy stores, my
mind thereafter is calmer and clearer than it could have possibly been
otherwise. Remaining is an exhausted body, lounging as the versatile
instrument of the mind.
This past Sunday I awoke at dawn,
and with my father went to the gym. I exerted myself and whole fully
broke a sweat. In the afternoon, we went for a casual hike, as we usually
do on Sundays. The day was beautiful, and a steep one mile incline wraps
into another mile of zigzag descents. Around 4 pm I met with my
best of friends, and we found ourselves at Kaimana beach ready to swim out to
the wind-flag which is post out at 200 meters from shore. After that swim
I certainly could say that I was exhausted, but my mind was extraordinarily
refreshed. The mellow disposition of my body left my mind very relaxed,
suddenly enjoying the temperate air and the environments of Hawaii far more than usual. For dinner
I departed from home, half-jokingly telling my dad that I’m going female
hunting. Sitting alone and seriously enjoying the elaborate atmosphere at
a spot called Rum Fire, my beer and burger arrive. Smiles grace my face
and not a worry was on my mind. The spot was calming to the senses, and I
happen to see other fellows who are also sitting alone and making it painfully
obvious that they are hunting female. Suddenly a group of three attractive
Japanese females on the table next to me make a sort of beastly sound to get my
attention. I look and see three smiles reflecting my own. The leader of
this pack gestured for me to join them, and suddenly my burger and I were
enveloped in a very positive experience. This calm frame of mind, which
welcomed the females to subsequently hunt me, I owe entirely to the extensive
exercise that I did earlier that day.
At a cellular level inside of our
brains, exercise has been proven by scientists to be one of the only ways to
create new neurons, protect existing neurons and promote the signal
transmission between neurons, which is considered the basis of memory and
learning. This means that it certainly is more than just a feeling that
came over me after a full day of exercise, my mind had developed more neurons.
It is quite a curiosity that such profound and established research would not
be wide spread and advertised, as much as, say, Mc Donald’s twenty piece
chicken mc nuggets for five dollars. I could almost venture to guess that
the pharmaceutical companies and the fast food companies go hand in hand along
with the government to make an awesome profit from the growing unhealthiness of
the country, but I’m not much of a conspiracy theorist.
I’ve found that my induction of swimming, hiking, and running, as regular
hobbies was not the easiest thing to grasp at first, given their vigorous
connotations. Though it was after successions of these exhausting experiences
did I naturally understand that not only was I physically becoming healthier, I
was discovering new states of mind. Children need to be taught these
things at a young age, so they may stand better chance to live their body and
mind to its’ full potential. What with all the incredible advances in
technology allowing a child to hold the world of knowledge in one hand and an
ice cream in the other, it seems that chance is only getting slimmer.
