Society for
the Shelterless
The
Society for the Shelterless is a no-profit worldwide organization that arranges
shelterless individuals to proper housing, care, and/or a space where they can
be shelterless. The Society also gives lessons to members of the community to
be productive individuals (e.g. backyard farming, job applications, Hygene 101
and etc.).
The
society has two types of buildings. The Center (one in every city) is
responsible for the classes and placing people into housing and/or healthcare
facilities while The Station (more or less five in every city) is responsible
for people who prefer to be homeless. Both have toilets and showers, and some
edible plants on the lawn.
In
addition to the basics, The Center will also have an art gallery were new works
are displayed every week.
The Society’s vision would be to
turn the hatred and prejudices of the society at large to these people into
love.
The homeless and the homeless
shelters they seem to congregate on are practically invisible to the society.
We seem to see them as some sort of abnormal rather than people like you and me
who go on their life stories. What I’m trying to do with this proposal is
practically put them in front of everybody’s face. I also love to see what
works of art will come out of this.
